Lynette Phillips OBE

LynetteLynette is a Registered Nurse, Midwife, holds a Dip in Health Visiting and is a Community Practice Teacher in Health Visiting. In addition to her nursing qualifications, Lynette holds a Diploma in Management Studies, a Masters Degree in Business Administration and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.

For over 25 years, Lynette worked in the NHS and held a number of challenging positions both as a clinician and as a Senior Manager. As a clinician Lynette was aware that to provide quality care one aspect was to listen to what clients said about their experience of care and work with others to improve the service provided. As a senior manager Lynette adopted a supportive leadership style to influence and empower staff teams to develop themselves and to provide quality care.

Lynette now works as a leadership and management consultant and provides training and development to teams and individuals. She is a coach, with a particular interest in coaching individuals for interview preparation. She is a member of the Chief Nursing Officer BME Advisory Group and the Chair of the London Black and Minority Network for NHS Staff and Allied Professionals. Lynette was a member of the Prime Minister’s Nursing and Care Quality Forum in 2013.

In 2007 New Year’s honours list Lynette received an OBE for services to health care. She is an associate Lecturer at the London South Bank University and a Visiting Lecturer at the De Montfort University in Leicester.
