REVEREND DR CAROL TOMLIN
Revd Dr Carol Tomlin is an ordained minister and multi-award-winning educator who has a long and distinguished academic career teaching in universities, nationally and internationally and is currently a visiting fellow at the University of Leeds. She has received several awards/fellowships, such as a university teaching award from the University of Wolverhampton, the prestigious British Academy/ACU(Association of Commonwealth Universities) fellowship and a Black Pentecostal Scholarship and Literature Award (2023) by the Alliance for Black Pentecostal Scholarship.
As a former healthcare chaplain, the apostolic leader of Restoration Fellowship Ministries, and the founding Principal of the Kingdom School of Theology, her calling is to train and equip Christian leaders with the tools to serve effectively in the Kingdom of God. With a deep passion and gift for motivating and empowering individuals, particularly women, she seeks to facilitate them in fulfilling their divine purpose. She is the author of numerous academic publications, for example, Preach It! Understanding African Caribbean Preaching. Her latest co-authored book with Dr Victoria, Understanding and Managing Sophisticated and Everyday Racism: Implications for Education and Work (2022), is specifically geared toward female audiences. She presents interviews on podcasts, radio and social media, such as “How Pentecostals Pray through the Pandemic” for the BBC World Service. As a gifted orator, Dr Tomlin is often invited as a keynote speaker at national and international academic conferences and faith-based forums.
