Reverend Amanda Bedzrah

Reverend Amanda Bedzrah is a passionate Bible teacher, international speaker, award-winning author, missionary, and the founder and CEO of Empower a Woman Ministries, a UK-registered charity serving individuals, families, and communities. The work also operates through Empower a Woman Ministries Nigeria and EWA Foundation Ghana.

Amanda has been involved in mission work across Ghana, Nigeria, and Malawi, supporting widows, vulnerable women, children, and families through education, child sponsorship, dignity-centred initiatives, and sustainable empowerment. In Nigeria, her work includes support for secondary schools and prison-based menstrual hygiene and literacy programmes. Her prison outreach received formal commendation from the Nigerian Prison Services, and she also led the delivery of a much-needed borehole to one of Nigeria’s oldest leprosy colonies in Abia State.

In the UK, Amanda has supported women in prison for over ten years through the distribution of more than 25,000 Christmas gifts, now working in collaboration with prison-focused charities to continue this outreach. Her UK work also includes funding support for women pursuing education and business start-up, grant-funding other charities, and meeting the needs of vulnerable families. In 2015, she pioneered The Smile Bank, Kent’s first toiletries-only food bank, highlighting the importance of dignity and personal hygiene alongside food provision. This work continues today through partner organisations.

Amanda is committed to collaboration and partnership, working alongside charities and community organisations in the UK and across Africa to deliver lasting impact.

A wife and mother of three, Amanda hosts The Empower a Woman talk show on Revelation TV and YouTube. She serves on the Board of Trustees for WTC (Westminster Theological Centre), is a Council Member for Churches in Communities CIC, and works as a Senior Professional within the NHS.

Her work reflects a sustained commitment to serving God with compassion, faith, and practical action, seeking to bring hope, dignity, and transformation to lives and communities.
