Mary Akangbe

Mary Akangbe is a Specialist Practitioner in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Robotics. She has a wealth of experience spanning over 25 years   in training, mentoring, capability building, tele education and health technology -patient centricity and Genomics in 3 Centres of Excellence in the UK transforming healthcare globally.

She has led and worked within teams on innovative approach to healthcare delivery resulting in many ‘First in the UK in the areas of Minimally Invasive Surgery

Involved in both national and international   recruitments for the NHS- She incorporates a robust orientation and induction program to establish high retention rates and productivity.

Mary is the President/ Founder of Zenith Global Health, an organisation set up in 2016 to foster collaboration, shared learning and strategic partnership amongst healthcare professional and institutions globally. She is a multi-award winning nurse and uses her skills to bridge the global  divide in health to foster health equity.

As well as in the UK, the annual High-Level summit and awards have been successfully held in Nigeria, Zambia, Senegal, Ghana and Cape Verde in collaboration with the Ministries of Health bringing together critical stake holders, public, private, academic and philanthropic to collaborate on solving issues that pose a threat to global health equity with particular focus on Africa.

Mary strongly believes in ‘Our Youth, Our Future’ and has been a volunteer at the Inspiring our Youth for almost a decade, delivering lectures and professional signpost for secondary school students at the point of career choices.  She is an Industry Mentor to students studying Master’s degree in Global Health at UCL.

She has served in leading roles in the body of Christ as a Teenage Sunday school Teacher, worship and intercessory team Leader and Safeguarding officer. Her strong faith drives everything she does to bring God glory and honour.
