Lucy Muchina

Lucie Muchina is currently the Regional Director at the Royal College of Nursing, in the Southwest. During the week, you can find Lucie representing the voice of nursing members in her region at various platforms, from executive nurses’ forums to member forums. You could also find her giving talks at member engagement meetings or being interviewed by the media on issues affecting nursing. Because of her extensive experience in nursing, Lucie is highly knowledgeable about nursing matters.
Lucie believes that nursing is a highly critical profession and that every nurse deserves better recognition and value for the work they do. In addition, she’s passionate about supporting aspiring nursing staff especially those from the global majority to achieve goals in their career.

Lucie qualified as a registered nurse and midwife in Nairobi, Kenya in 1992 before moving to England. Her postgraduate qualifications include a BSc in Health and Community studies and an MSc in Public Health, both from the University of the West of England.

Lucie has worked for significant number of years in senior roles in nursing. She is also an inspirational speaker and has spoken at various platforms at a global stage-she has a particular interest in promoting the interests of women and the marginalised in the society.

Outside of work, Lucie is an author, song writer and a gospel singer. She has written 3 books to date- “Domestic Abuse in church”, “Dare to dream” and her latest book is on single parenting. She has also released 3 albums and recently launched her third album- ElShaddai.

In 2018, Lucy received an award as one of the top 20 inspiration women in Bristol.
Lucy is currently undertaking a course in executive coaching and mentoring at University of the West of England.
