Bathsheba Smith – Woman in the Community
Bathsheba Smith has been hosting fitness classes since 1986.
Her classes are very popular and well attended. Every week the ladies would queue to get in to ensure they were not going to be turned away because of full capacity.
When she became a Christian in 1992 she had a vision to introduce Gospel music to her classes to share her faith.
Gospel Aerobics was birthed resulting in a video production the very first of its kind. Gospel Aerobics sold nationally and internationally featuring on Breakfast TV with (Chris Moyles)and other popular magazines (GQ)PREMIER Radio and other Broadsheets The Telegraph, The voice, The Mail on Sunday.
Her work has impacted gym’s health clubs community centres, schools, churches, charity and residential homes.
In 2010 Haiti was hit by a Devastating Earthquake killing 350 000 people and injuring hundreds of others resulting in amputees.
Bathsheba felt a call to help and prayerfully embarked on a Mission to Haiti.
Whilst in Haiti, Bathsheba reached out generously to sick orphaned children in Orphanages with clothing and feeding.
She went into villages feeding the hungry and praying with the poor, rehabilitating amputees the Earthquake.
Since Haiti, Bathsheba has gone on mission to the Mother Land of Guyana carrying out similar work with the poor and underprivileged Children with her Fitness /Sports Skills and a heart to help the needy and give back.
