Audrey Jackson

Audrey Jackson is an author, speaker and the CEO and Founder of Pouring on Oil and Wine CIC. Audrey retired from her professional career as a Senior Biomedical Scientist and Training Officer in 2014, after more than 25 years service in the NHS. In a voluntary capacity, she has served the Church in many roles and was elected to be Youth Deacon in 2012-2017.

Audrey became a widow in May 2016 and on her husband’s funeral day she was asked: “when will you be starting the widows club?”. Audrey then realised there are widows of all ages and from all backgrounds with one thing in common, the loss of their husband. Audrey is called by God to use her painful experience to take care of widows. In May 2017 she organised and hosted the first ‘Widows Breakfast’ where over 50 widows came together to enjoy a healthy continental breakfast, share their unique stories, connect with other widows and heal from their loss. Audrey believes that no widow should be left untouched, lost or forgotten. Audrey says “To take care of our widows is a mandate from God. Having my own bereavement, the Lord has commissioned me to take care of widows. To this end, I endeavour to reach out to widows and seek them out in churches and the community.

In November 2018, Audrey became the published author of ‘Honey from the Rock 40 prayers for Widows’, a book that gives insight to a widows heart about the things she does not say, but God hears.
