Shaneisha Dodson – Woman in Media

Shaneisha Dodson is an award-winning playwright and the founder of Black Girlz Productions. Dodson was born in Arkansas and currently resides in California. She holds a B.A. in psychology from Grambling State University, M.A. in counseling from Dallas Baptist University, an Ed. S in education from Walden University, and a certificate in women entrepreneurship from Cornell University. She has won numerous awards for her literary work. 

Dodson has written, produced and directed three full length productions and one short play that have successfully toured throughout the United States. Her one act play debuted in NYC summer 2017. Her play was awarded best theatrical presentation by NYC Success in the Arts awards. Dodson’s work has been developed, read or produced at the HMBG foundation, The Classical Theatre of Harlem, Inkwell Theatre, 50 in 50 Writing Women into Existence, Barrow Group,  Logan Theater and the Fade 2 Black festival. Her children’s play and monologue is published in Drama Notebook. In her spare time, she enjoys writing and spending time with loved ones.
